Del Mar Races Microbrew Fest....

....sucked. Well, I assume it couldn't have been that cool, since I couldn't even get in.
$15 for 5 tastes, fine. Closing down entry at 5:00pm, not fine. $7 for regular beers at the races and having to wait a minimum 20 minutes, re-god-damned-diculous. SO nothing to report, and no pictures. Billy Idol didn't sound that great anyway, maybe he accidentally drank his peroxide.

Cashed!

FIRST KEG DOWN!!!

Stone Brewery had a VIP party for a Charitable Fundraiser, and of course me being a VIP, Kris and I were there.
As it so happened, my old buddy Chris Brill was in town, so we had him, Kyle, Jeff, and a Mysterious Girl over for a BBQ afterwards. A whole day of micros, ouch. Anyway, the inaugural Ballast Point IPA keg is finished, and I put my first kegged homebrew in to carbonate while we went to Maui.
Still waiting on my faucet upgrades too.

I will try to get some pics up.

We have the technology.....Better, stronger, faster!

If those fools at the lab would have put a little more thought in to it, they could have turned Steve Austin in to a kick ass kegeratin' machine. Instead, they wasted 6 million on him to jump over walls constantly. At least he made the cool sound.

I made that exact sound as I dispensed not one, but two beers simultaneously from my bigger, stronger, faster kegerator. The good peeps in the lab delivered my custom draft tower right on time. A slight shipping delay forced me to lie in wait for the delivery of my stainless steel connectors and faucet.

Take a deep breath and behold its glory:

A lot of blood, sweat, and liver damage when in to the making of this truly GRAND moment. I shall now enjoy it. I am working on a seperate page for the whole assembly process, and one for victims of the kegerator.

I have a subscription button at the very bottom of the page, sign up and it will inform you when new posts are made.

WHAT'S ON TAP:
Ballast Point Big Eye IPA
Red Nectar

I have been tons and tons of emails from the thirsty hordes that want to be notified when I post a new...umm post. I am tinkering with it currently, but at the bottom of the page there is a subscription box. let me know if you have problems.

I will be updating the results of the first keg soon...

exasperation

Our Ferrari of Kegerators got turned in to a hooptie.

The inaugural keg of Red Nectar tastes like @$!
Actually it tastes like almost nothing.
Like a keg of Karl Strauss.
I did some "research" and microbrew kegs should only be around 45-60 days. The Red Nectar keg is from December so that is ooooooooo 150 days old.
Nice work you A holes!

I am gonna do a drive by to Beverages and More and hurl the keg thru the window.
Then I am gonna go inside and get a keg of Sierra Nevada.

So all of you waiting for the first keg run of drunken buttcrack photos will have to wait.

Specs on the new baby

If HEMI made kegerator engines, this baby would have one. I haven't had it a week and I am almost done souping it up. I am thinking of entering it at the El Cajon Speedway this weekend. God Bless the USA!
With this Kegerator I am doing the equilvelent of taking some rusted out Pinto on blocks and turning it in to a Knight Industries TwoThousand Maximum Extreme Beer Dispensing Machine.
Or as it is affectionately known - KITT MEBDM

And I shall be his wayward pilot - Steve Austin

The specs for all you tech junkies:

Sanyo BC-1206 Full Size Keg Beer Cooler
Fits 1/2, 1/4, 1/6 (5 gallon) and homebrew kegs.
  • 5lb CO2 Aluminum Cylinder and 15lb Steel Cylinder - up to 55 psi of Beer Squirting Fun
  • Upgraded double gauge Premium Stainless Steel Micromatic Regulator.
  • Double gas output for 2X more drinking. TWO HANDS - TWO BEERS. If I had three hands we'd have a threesome.
  • American Sankey "D" system keg coupler, Euro Keg Coupler, and Homebrew Keg connections.
  • Single faucet black ABS plastic column tower. **Soon to be upgraded**
  • Premium quality chrome plated solid brass beer faucet. **Soon to be upgraded**

The tower and faucets are bei
ng upgraded. I am having a Metal Fabrication "Lab" building me a custom Dual Input stainless steel tower. Two different beers can be dispensed at the same time resulting in Maximum Pleasure. That is like having Carrot Top and CREED over at your house at the same time!
